Jen Armstrong Filed For Legal Separation From Husband Ryne And Is Anyone Surprised?

The only shocking thing about this story is that she filed for separation and not divorce.

During her first season on The Real Housewives of Orange County newcomer Dr. Jen Armstrong's main storyline centred around how horrible her marriage was. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that she filed for legal separation from her husband Ryne Holliday after almost eight years of marriage.

TMZ, who obtained court documents, revealed Jen cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. You know you've made it when you're citing "irreconcilable differences" on divorce documents in Southern California. Honestly, if I ever get to a point where I'm ticking that iconic box while the SoCal breeze blows through my hair then I can die happy.

Jen's also asking for legal and physical custody of their three children which is surprising considering Ryne is the stay at home parent in this situation. The two split in September last year but got back together to try and work things out, but I guess they're back to being broken up. If you have to break up multiple times a year to "try and make it work" then divorce is definitely the answer.

Although they listed their Orange County house on the market in March, they've taken it off the market and are renting it out for $20k a month.

A "source", according to Page Six, claims Jen filed for separation to try and help their relationship but after watching their dynamic play out last season I don't think anything can save it. Just get divorced, start dating and move the fuck on! The source told the outlet:

“There was no specific catalyst for the filing. After their first trial separation in September [2021], Jen and Ryne were still in limbo and Jen felt like she needed to take this step to improve their family dynamic... The issues they’ve been having are the same issues that played out on the show. But all is amicable and they are committed to keeping their kids stable and happy.”

This entire situation is exhausting and if Jen keeps her orange next season, I really don't have the patience, bandwidth, energy or interest in watching it play out. Hopefully this is the final nail in the coffin that is their marriage and we get to see fun single Jen on season 17, but something tells me she may not exist.
